Ireland breaks the record for Solar Power record in March

IRELAND BREAKS THE RECORD FOR SOLAR POWER RECORDED IN MARCH

March 2025 marked a historic month for Ireland’s renewable energy journey, with solar power hitting a new all-time peak. On March 25, solar energy fed 750MW into the national grid, the highest level of grid-scale solar production ever recorded in a single day. The spring sunshine was enough to power approximately 300,000 homes. This milestone surpassed the previous record set in July 2024 by 18MW and is a promising sign as we head into the summer months.

This achievement follows February’s wind generation record and highlights the increasing role of clean energy in meeting national electricity demand. These developments underline the importance of renewable energy storage as Ireland works toward a more resilient and sustainable power system.

With more renewable energy being produced than ever before, homeowners can now take direct action to benefit from this green transition. The Greenify Loan from Link Credit Union offers affordable, accessible financing for energy-efficient home improvements, including solar panel installation, window upgrades, and insulation.

Ailbhe Curtis from Link Credit Union said:
