How do I apply?

To apply for a current account, please choose one of the three tabs listed below to get
further information on the process.

Gather your Documents 1

Gather your Documents

As part of the application process, you will be required to provide the following documents.

  • Photographic Proof of Identity i
    Current Drivers licence or Passport. Public Services Card cannot be accepted.
  • Proof of Address i
    A utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 6 months.
  • Proof of PPS Number i
    Can be found on a payslip, medical card, E111 card – we cannot accept the Public Services Card.

Confirmation

You will receive your Mastercard® Debit Card in the post within 5-7 working days. Details on how to obtain your PIN by SMS text message will be included in the documentation accompanying the card.

You can call into any of our offices, with your original documents as outlined and a member of staff can assist you in becoming a member of Link Credit Union and open a Current Account for you. Alternatively, you can sign up to our online banking portal using the button below.

You will need to become a member of Link Credit Union to open a Current Account. You can do so by clicking on the below link.

* Please Note: Members can apply through our online platform, if you are over 16 years of age and applying for an individual Current Account.
Alternatively, if you wish to apply for a joint account (both parties must be over the age of 18 years) please call into one of our offices.

If you are 13-15 years of age, you must call into one of our offices, with a parent/guardian to sign a parental consent form. You can download this form here. The Parent must bring Proof of ID and Proof of Address along with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get Cashback?

Yes. You can obtain cashback up to €100 when making purchases at participating retailers.

You can also withdraw up to a maximum of €700 per day at ATMs located through the country and abroad. (Withdrawal limits at ATMs vary).

Can I use my card for online shopping?

Yes. You can shop at participating websites using your card. Mastercard® SecureCode is a free service that provides cardholders with additional security and peace of mind when shopping online. During the checkout process when shopping online, you may be asked to register for the Mastercard® SecureCode service.

Can I use my card abroad?

You can use your card anywhere in the world where the Mastercard® Acceptance Mark is displayed. Foreign exchange fees and charges apply where the transaction is performed outside the Eurozone.

Will I be advised what fees I am charged?

Yes. Account fees are calculated quarterly for quarters ending 31st March, 30th June, 30th September and 31st December. A fee notification will issue along with your quarterly statement, prior to fees being charged to your account. Fees are charged to members accounts on the 28th of April, July, October and December or where the 28th is not a business day, the next business day.
